Saturday’s match against Gateshead at the Crown Oil Arena is our official game of Remembrance.
Rochdale AFC wishes to pay tribute to those servicemen, women and former players who have fallen, as part of the 2018 Remembrance commemorations and the centenary of the end of the first World War.
Veterans and Fusiliers will line the pitch in an Act of Remembrance, while the Armed Forces Chaplin will lay a poppy wreath on the pitch and give a short prayer. This will be followed by a minute’s silence before kick-off, to remember all who served, sacrificed and changed our world from 1918-2018.
In addition, the Royal British Legion have supplied a special Armistice 100 commemorative coin for the coin toss at the beginning of the match.
A bucket collection will take place at Saturday’s game to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal and Activate. Poppy stalls will be located in the Main Reception and the Ratcliffe Bars.
