A Successful Season For The Rochdale AFC Ladies Teams

22 May 2018

Head of Dale in the Community, Keith Hicks, reflects on a successful season for the club’s ladies teams…

Many thanks for a fabulous end to the season, with two weekends of cup finals involving our teams, following on from league winners in three divisions. This is something we never thought possible when setting up four years ago with an under 14s team assembled after holding trials at the Soccer Factory.

We have grown from that initial squad, which was made up of 12 girls, to now having over 100 girls taking part across our squads, from under 9s all the way through to an Open Age category. This number is ever growing.

Many thanks to Trust staff and devoted volunteers who have helped develop our extremely talented and dedicated players. That’s extended to the parents and families for their continual support in encouraging all the players.

I’m looking forward to seeing everybody at Old Trafford on July 1st for the South Manchester Girls League Presentation, and then at the Rochdale AFC Ladies Presentation, held at the Ratcliffe Bars, on July 14th.
