The Addicks visited Dale for the first time in 37 years back in March 2011, as Keith Hill’s men ran out 2-0 winners in the League One encounter.
Jason Kennedy opened the scoring after 35 minutes, drilling home from the edge of the area, before Craig Dawson scrambled home a Matty Done corner with 14 minutes remaining.
It sealed Dale’s fourth win in a row, and moved them to within five points of the playoff places.
