Keith Hill On Rotherham United

9 March 2018

Rochdale take on an in form Rotherham United the AESSEAL New York Stadium this Saturday.

The Millers, currently on a 14 game unbeaten run, have won their last seven, but Dale head into the match on the back of Tuesday night’s victory over Walsall, and Hill is hoping for more three points feelings between now and the end of the season.

“The three point feeling is good. It’s a flow and we need more of that,” said Hill.

“Like I previously said, we’ve dug ourselves into a hole, but I believe this squad of players is good enough. It would be a shame if we were to be relegated because we’ve decided to plateau out this season after all the hard work we’ve done to get promoted and then during the last three seasons in League One.

“I’ve been encouraged with the performance levels for quite a while and that’s got to continue. We’ve got to make sure that we’re up for it at the weekend against Rotherham who are promotion contenders. They’re an excellent team, an excellent football club and they’re in a rich vein of form.”

Rotherham United, who were relegated from the Championship at the end of last season, currently sit fourth in the League One table, which comes as no surprise to the Gaffer.

“I think they’ve had an excellent season. Sometimes it’s difficult to bounce straight away when you’ve been relegated but they’ve bounced and the way they’ve performed has been superb.

“They’ve got honest, brilliant staff, and I think the way the team plays reflects the management and the coaching side.

“I’m not surprised with the form they’re in given the stature of the club and the calibre of player that they’ve got. They’re up there in the table and there’s still a possibility of them challenging for a top two berth with the amount of games that they’ve still got to play.”
