Dale travelled there in search of a fifth successive victory, and took the lead midway through the first-half thanks to Ian Henderson.
Keith Hill’s men were dominant throughout, and sealed victory through Joe Thompson’s close-range effort in the 74th minute.
The win kept Dale in fourth place, just five points off the automatic promotion spots.
