A member of Rochdale’s Walking Football Club has been invited to attend trials for England’s Walking Football team.
David Brooks (pictured fourth from right above), who plays for the Rochdale Strollers, is hoping to break into the over-60s national walking football team.
He faces some stern competition, with Tommy Charlton, brother of England World Cup winners Sir Bobby and Jack, and former Liverpool legend Alan Kennedy, both attending the trials to be held at Burnley this weekend.
The Rochdale AFC Strollers were crowned winners of the Greater Manchester Walking Football League Division One back in December, and also won two separate one-day events last year.
