The Crown Oil Arena’s fabulous Wonder Wall will be even bigger and better this year, with the feature set to be doubled in size!
Thanks to funding from Crown Oil and Gordon Rigg Garden Centre, the feature, which currently runs along half of the raised land behind the Sandy Lane stand, will be extended to incorporate all of it.
Not only that, this year’s theme will be focused around football, and we’re looking for a local artist who may be able to help us create a silhouette feature. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01706 753581 if you’re a local artist and would like to get involved.
To make it all happen, we’re holding a summer planting session at the Crown Oil Arena on Thursday 14 June, from 6pm to 7.30pm.
Anybody who would like to take part in the planting session should just turn up on the evening and bring their own spades, trowels and gardening gloves. Any donations of summer bedding plants would also be welcomed.
The Wonder Wall enjoyed many successes in its first year, having won two accolades in the 2017 North West In Bloom Awards, including top marks for the ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood Award’. It also scooped an award for the Best New Rochdale In Bloom 2017 Feature.
This year, the Wonder Wall will again compete in the North West In Bloom competition, and in addition, will also be representing the North West in the Britain In Bloom competition!
We’d once again like to thank Crown Oil, Gordon Rigg Garden Centre and the Rochdale In Bloom Committee for their continued support and for helping make this happen.
