Fixtures | League One Newcomers

Following confirmation of our fixtures for the upcoming 2018/19 Sky Bet League One campaign, we take a look at when we will face the seven newcomers to the league.

 

ACCRINGTON STANLEY

Last Campaign | 1st (Sky Bet League Two – Champions)

Stanley reached the third tier of English football for the first time in their history, as they lifted the League Two title, winning 18 of their final 23 games.

BARNSLEY

Last Campaign | 22nd (Sky Bet Championship – Relegated)

The Tykes return to the third tier after a two-year absence in the Championship, having won just three of their final 14 games. They appointed new manager Daniel Stendel earlier this month.

BURTON ALBION

Last Campaign | 23rd (Sky Bet Championship – Relegated)

The Brewers exceeded all expectations by winning promotion to the Championship two years ago, and went one better by surviving the drop in their first year, before agonisingly suffering relegation on the final day of their last campaign.

COVENTRY CITY

Last Campaign | 6th (Sky Bet League Two – Promoted via playoffs)

The Sky Blues achieved promotion back to the third tier of English football at the first attempt, beating Exeter City 3-1 in the League Two playoff final after finishing the regular season in sixth.

LUTON TOWN

Last Campaign | 2nd (Sky Bet League Two – Promoted)

The Hatters’ 8-2 victory over Yeovil Town on the opening day of last season set the tone for a successful season, and they secured promotion to League One with a 3-1 win over ? on the penultimate weekend of the season.

SUNDERLAND

Last Campaign | 24th (Sky Bet Championship - Relegated)

The Black Cats suffered back-to-back relegations, finishing bottom of the Championship as they won just seven league games. They have appointed former St Mirren boss Jack Ross as they look to bounce back to the Championship at the first attempt.

WYCOMBE WANDERERS

Last Campaign | 3rd (Sky Bet League Two - Promoted)

The Chairboys returned to the third tier of English football following a six-year absence, with a run of just three defeats in their final 21 games securing the final automatic promotion place in their penultimate game of the season.
