Bradden Inman says it is a nice feeling to be back at Rochdale, after signing a one-year contract with the club.
The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at Dale from Peterborough United, who he left by mutual consent earlier this week.
Keith Hill acted quickly to bring him back to the club, and he is looking forward to the coming season.
“It’s good to see the boys again - I can’t wait for the new season,” said Inman.
“After the last game of the season, I wasn’t sure where my future was going to be. I went on holiday with a few of the boys and told them I wanted to come back.
“I like the way we play, and I think the Gaffer gets the best out of me, so I’m really excited to be back.
“I'd also like to thank the fans for their support. It’s a good feeling knowing I’m welcome back at the club.”
Inman played a part in Dale's Emirates FA Cup successes and relegation survival, and he feels Dale can be even stronger this time around.
“The way the boys reacted on the last day, you could see what it meant to us and the club to stay in League One.
“I know this season is going to be a lot different. We’ve made some good signings as well, so I can’t wait to get started.
“The players we’ve brought in, some of them have got Championship quality, and we’ve got a couple of lads from Ireland.
“It feels like we’ve got a very strong squad, and if you’re not picked in the eleven then you know we’ve got a very strong bench.”
Inman has been back amongst the players in pre-season training this week, and he is excited to be back out on the grass.
“It was an extremely hard day [my first day back] but I was just excited to be playing football again.
“Ask any footballer, it’s a good day when you see the footballs out! It’s the way we want to play, so it’s beneficial for us.”
