Rochdale's League One fixture v Southend United at the Crown Oil Arena has been postponed.
An army of volunteers arrived at the Crown Oil Arena at 8am to help the ground staff remove the pitch covers, but despite their valiant efforts, persistent rain and sleet made their task an uphill struggle and the game was called off due to a water-logged pitch.
Referee Eddie Ilderton arrived at the Crown Oil Arena at around 11am to monitor the situation and made his final decision shortly before 12.30pm.
A new date for the match will be announced in due course.
