With Manager Keith Hill moving to further strengthen his squad this week following the arrival of Alex Dobre and Sam Hart, the Gaffer has told iFollow that there will be “integration period” for his January transfer window recruits.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s League One fixture against Southend United, he commented: “The new players have got to integrate into what we do on the training pitch and it can be difficult, so don’t expect to see all these players playing all at once. There’s an integration period.
“The Board of Directors know my plan and they trust me with respect to making sure the fortunes of the football club are best served, not just on the field but off the field as well.
“We bring these players in and we integrate them into the way that we train and then we get good product from them. I’m not just going throw players in willy-nilly, when they’ve only been with us for a couple of games.
“But the opportunity is there for somebody to stake a claim to play left-back now that Joe has gone, because we have a number of permutations.
“With Sam coming in, it’s up to him to not only earn his shirt but to also get the respect of the other players as well, which I’m sure he will because he’s a good player.”
