Flashback: Millwall 2-3 Rochdale

24 January 2018

Ahead of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup fourth round tie against Millwall at the Den, we take a look back at our 3-2 win over Neil Harris’ side during the 2016-17 season.

Dale faced the Lions on Saturday 24th September 2016 and left with all three points, thanks to a late Ian Henderson penalty.

Hendo sent goalkeeper Jordan Archer the wrong way from the spot in stoppage time to seal Rochdale’s first ever victory away at Millwall.

Callum Camps gave Keith Hill’s side an early lead, before Aiden O’Brien levelled almost straight from kick-off. O’Brien then went down under a challenge inside the area, with Lee Gregory stepping up to put the home side ahead.

Andrew equalised with a powerful header midway through the second half, before Millwall's Ben Thompson was dismissed for a second yellow card.

With the game seemingly heading to a stalemate, Steven Davies was fouled inside the area in injury time, and Henderson stepped up to grab a memorable three points for Dale.

Watch the key highlights from the game below.

Dale XI: Lillis, McGahey, Keane, Canavan, Bunney, Lund, Camps, McDermott, Thompson, Henderson, Andrew. Subs: Logan, Rafferty, Rathbone, Noble-Lazarus, Davies, Odelusi.
