Ahead of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup third round trip to Doncaster Rovers, we take a look back at our recent third round triumphs.
The famous competition has provided Dale with some great memories in recent years, having made it to round four of the competition in three of the last four seasons.
2016/17 – Barrow AFC 0-2 Dale (Henderson 2)
Having beaten Maidstone United and Carlisle United in rounds one and two, Dale were faced with another potential banana skin in round three.
Barrow AFC had already scalped League One Bristol Rovers in round two, and were hoping to advance to the fourth round for the first time in their history.
However, Ian Henderson’s double ensured it would be Dale who went on to face Huddersfield Town in the next round.

2014/15 – Dale 1-0 Nottingham Forest (Vincenti)
Dale welcome twice European Cup winners Nottingham Forest to the Crown Oil Arena in January 2015, having overcome Aldershot Town in a second-round replay.
Keith Hill’s side were awarded a penalty when Joe Rafferty was felled in the area by Michail Antonio, and Peter Vincenti’s coolly taken penalty gave Dale an early lead.
Dale created a host of chances in the opening period, but in the end Vincenti’s goal was enough to earn a fourth-round tie at home to Stoke City.

2013/14 – Dale 2-0 Leeds United (Hogan & Henderson)
The 2013/14 season would prove a memorable one for the Club, which included promotion back to League One and a run to the fourth round of the FA Cup, the latter sealed with victory over Leeds United at the Crown Oil Arena.
Leeds were pushing for a Championship playoff spot when they came to town, but it was Dale who looked to be the higher of the two divisions apart.
Scott Hogan’s header in first-half stoppage time put Dale deservedly ahead, and after a number of fine saves from Leeds’ Paddy Kenny in the second half, the lead was finally doubled by Henderson’s superb lob six minutes from time.
