A Pitch Update Ahead Of Tuesday Night's FA Cup Replay

5 February 2018

Ahead of Tuesday night’s Emirates FA Cup fourth round replay against Millwall, we’d like to update supporters on the progress of the work being carried out on the pitch…

Since the dome was fully erected on Friday, the ground staff have been working around the clock to prepare the pitch for the drill and fill process which was announced last week.

The covers have proved extremely useful, helping to protect the pitch against the torrential rain that fell on Friday and Saturday.

With fine weather forecast for Sunday, the dome cover was removed on Sunday morning, but with wintry conditions forecast overnight tonight (Monday), the dome will go back up tonight and the heaters will continue to be used.

The ground staff and contractors have been back on site since 5am on Monday morning to finish implementing the 'drill' process. They have made huge in roads (at the time of writing) to carry out the 'fill' element, and they will continue working into the evening and throughout the night. Once the drill and fill process is complete, the pitch will then be rolled.

Throughout the whole process, we’ve been in regular dialogue with Millwall and the FA, and have endeavoured to keep supporters up to date where and when possible.
