Hill & Hendo’s Praise For Pitch Volunteers & Staff

7 February 2018

Manager Keith Hill and Captain Ian Henderson have both paid tribute to the ground staff and the group of volunteers who worked throughout the day on Monday and Tuesday to ensure Dale’s Emirates FA Cup fourth round replay against Millwall went ahead.

Speaking after the match, the Gaffer commented: “A lot of voluntary man hours have gone into preparing the pitch. Those supporters [who helped out] deserved that performance from the players tonight.

“The work that has gone in to ensuring this game went ahead has been tremendous. A lot of people have been working through the night and have continued preparing the pitch right up until kick-off tonight, so fair credit to them.”

Hendo added: “I know that the club has worked tirelessly with the ground staff to get tonight’s game on.

“There were also lots of supporters who volunteered to help out, so huge credit to those guys.

“From myself, the players, the management staff and the board of directors, we’re incredibly appreciative of the fans’ efforts.”
