Club Statement | William Goodwin

5 December 2018

Rochdale Football Club would like to inform its supporters that William Goodwin has taken the decision to step down from the Board of Directors and from his day-to-day involvement with the club.

Mr Goodwin retired from a long and successful career as a solicitor in 2008, before joining the Board of Directors in 2012. However, following the departure of Russ Green in the summer, he has worked full-time for the club on a short-term voluntary basis, and we will forever be indebted to him for that.

Chairman Chris Dunphy said: “Bill has made a massive contribution to the club since he joined us over six years ago. Without the dogged determination and his clear, clinical and concise legal ability, we would not have been able to buy back the stadium and the Ratcliffe Bars.

“He stepped into the breach when Russ left the club and he restructured the daily operation of the administration side of Rochdale AFC. He will be a big loss, and I would like to place on record my personal thanks for all the help he has given both to me and the club.”
