Manager Keith Hill says it’s important that the players dust themselves down and get ready to go again as the games continue to come thick and fast over the festive period.
Rochdale travel to Doncaster Rovers on New Year’s Day, their fourth game in 10 days, and go into the match on the back of Saturday’s defeat to Bradford City, having recorded back-to-back victories prior to the fixture against the Bantams.
“You’re greedy and you want nine points from the three games. You don’t want to be hammered like we have done against Bradford and psychologically you’ve got to make sure that you lift the players,” said Hill.
“Self-doubt can creep in and all of a sudden it can be a mainstay, so we’ll get rid of that and we'll go again. We’ve got to forget and move on quickly.
“Doncaster were very successful away at Gillingham at the weekend, winning 3-1. They’re a good side and very attack minded and they’re an extremely successful League One side.
“But we’ll dust ourselves down and go there with a game plan. We’ve got to make sure that we find that confidence and belief again to perform to the standards that I expect.”
