Dale travel to Championship opponents Middlesbrough in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
Ollie Rathbone’s brace against Grimsby Town in the first round secured Dale’s passage through to round two, whilst Boro overcame Notts County on penalties after a 3-3 draw at the Riverside Stadium.
Tony Pulis’ side are currently second in the Championship table, unbeaten with four wins from their opening five games.
The sides met in pre-season, when Dale came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at the Crown Oil Arena.

There is no extra-time in this year's competition. If the game is not decided after 90 minutes, it will go straight to penalties. This season, there is a return to the traditional approach of ‘ABAB’ format for taking penalties.
