Manager Keith Hill gives his initial reaction to the Carabao Cup Round Two draw…
After beating Grimsby Town 2-0, Dale have been drawn away to Championship side Middlesbrough in the second round of the competition.
“It’ll be a challenge and very difficult. It depends on how seriously Middlesbrough and Tony Pulis take the competition,” said Hill.
“From our perspective, it’s a great competition. We want to go as deep into the tournament as we possibly can. We’ve failed to do that in previous seasons, although we have bumped into some very good sides.
“And again, we’ve bumped into a good side and great club in Middlesbrough, so it’s going to be a challenge for us, but it’s one that we’ll up for.”
