Flashback | Grimsby Town 0-2 Dale

13 August 2018

Ahead of Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup first round trip to Grimsby Town, we take a look back at a previous trip to Blundell Park…

Rochdale’s last visit came back in October 2009, when a goal in both halves secured a 2-0 victory that sent Keith Hill’s men into the League Two automatic promotion places.

Adam Rundle gave Dale the lead midway through the first-half when he showed quick feet to get away from two defenders before slotting home.

He then cleared a header from a Grimsby corner off the line, before Chris O’Grady doubled Rochdale’s lead five minutes from time, when his deflected effort from Joe Thompson’s pullback found the bottom corner.
