Calvin Andrew insists Dale are still full of confidence despite conceding a late equaliser against Portsmouth on Saturday.
Keith Hill's side took the lead three times and deserved the victory against their play-off chasing opponents, but Matty Done’s own goal deep in added time meant Rochdale had to settle for a point.
“We’re disappointed. I’m sure the fans were, and the staff and the players are, but we can’t get disheartened,” said Andrew.
“It’s still a point towards what we’re trying to achieve and we just need to carry on.
“It was a good performance, which is something to take away from the game, and it’s a point in the right direction.”
Wigan Athletic are the visitors to the Crown Oil Arena on Tuesday, and the forward says Dale will have to put in a repeat performance against the promotion chasers.
“We’re full of confidence. I think it’s fair to say the position we’re in at the moment is a little bit of a misrepresentation of at least the last couple of games.
“We’re in a good vein of form at the moment and we’ve got some big games to come, so we have to try and put together the same performance as today [Saturday].”
