Following Jamie Allen’s departure to Burton Albion on Thursday, Manager Keith Hill has revealed that Ian Henderson was also the subject of interest during the summer transfer window.
Speaking to iFollow he commented: “We had quite a lot of interest in Ian Henderson but the clubs that wanted Ian wanted him on a free transfer. To ask for Hendo on a free is disrespectful to Ian Henderson.
“He has been so instrumental in my time back at the football club, and there was no way that I’d consider letting Ian Henderson walking out of this football club on a free. Ian is all in with me, we talk all the time and we’re very honest with each other.
“He has been involved in 75-percent of our goals over the last four seasons and he’s worth a lot more to me than any money, because he’s a big, big part of the success that we’ve had this football club and that’s why he remains at this football club.”
