Rochdale were 2-0 winners over Blackpool the last time the two sides met at Bloomfield Road, which was in August 2015.
After beating Peterborough United by the same score-line on the opening day of the season, Dale made the trip to the Seasiders for the first away game of the 2015-16 campaign.
Donal McDermott broke the deadlock just before the hour mark after racing onto a ball over the top, before Ian Henderson secured the points with three minutes of the game left to play when he capitalised on a defensive mistake.
