Rochdale AFC would like to pass on their condolences to the family and friends of David Bywater, who sadly passed away at the weekend.
David, along with the Bywater family, will be known to many supporters of the Club.
He gave many years of valuable service to Rochdale AFC, through his work with the former Centre of Excellence, and also with the Football in the Community department, particularly with helping to grow Ladies Football at the Club.
The Bywaters have a long-standing connection with the Club. David’s son, Stephen, came through the Club’s youth ranks, before being sold to West Ham United at the age of just 16.
David’s father, Les, was formerly the first team coach driver, and owned Bywater’s Coaches, which transported many Dale fans to away matches over the years.
The funeral arrangements are as follows:
Blackley Crematorium, Wednesday 1st November, 10.30am.
The family have requested any donations go to Rochdale AFC Ladies, as his granddaughter, Eloise, plays for the Under-12's. Shortly before his untimely passing, David was still attending matches.
The Club would like to place on record its thanks and commiserations to the Bywater family.
Rest In Peace, David.
