Dale In The Community Sports Trust Looking For Additional Trustees

2 October 2017

Make a difference and become a trustee.

Rochdale AFC’s Dale in the Community Sports Trust is looking to appoint additional Trustees who can use their skills, experience and time to support the charity. Please note that these are Voluntary roles.

The Community Trust is a registered charity, established in 1987, that delivers a variety of sports activities, coaching and educational services to support and benefit the communities of the Rochdale Borough.

Delivery focuses on health and well-being, social inclusion, community cohesion, personal development and attainment, working in schools and sports centres, within some of our most disadvantaged areas within the borough. The Trust works with boys, girls, men and women of all ages from youngsters to “Walking Footballers”.

Trustees are unpaid volunteers who serve on the governing body (Board) of the charity and are responsible for directing the management and administration of the charity. They have a wide range of duties and are responsible for making the charity effective, providing overall direction and maintaining sound management of funds.

New Trustees will have a passion about increasing opportunities and will want to make a real difference for the local community and will have a skill set to assist those aims. As we have a desire to recruit Trustees that represent the make-up of the local community, we would particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups as defined within the Equality Act 2010.

Most people over 18 can be Trustees. There are some exceptions, where a person has been convicted of an offence involving deception, an undischarged bankrupt or someone who has previously been removed as a Trustee. All Trustees must have a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS/CRB) check.

If you are interested then please send an e-mail to Keith Hicks (keith.hicks@rochdaleafc.co.uk) setting out your experience, background and suitability as an application for the role before 28th October 2017, or if you wish to discuss  the role or need any further information then please contact Keith Hicks by e-mail on keith.hicks@rochdaleafc.co.uk or by phone on 01706 643836 or 07958593121.
