Joe Rafferty Commits His Future To Rochdale Football Club

19 May 2017

Rochdale Football Club is delighted to announce that Joe Rafferty has committed his future to the club.

The 23-year-old, who was highly sought after this summer, has penned a two-year-deal.

Rafferty is one of Dale's longest serving players, having joined the club from Liverpool in 2012, and he has made almost 200 appearances.

After impressing during the 2016/17 campaign, Rafferty was named by supporters as their Player of the Season.

"The staff, the players and the fans have all treated me well since I came to the club and I've loved every minute of my time here," said Rafferty.

"I wanted to stay because I'm happy here and I want to achieve more with this club. We've achieved something different every year that I've been here and I want to keep on achieving."

Manager Keith Hill added: "I'm really pleased that Joe has committed his future to the football club.

"He has been with us for five years and he has worked under me for four-and-a-half seasons, and during that time he has grown.

"He has developed and he's still developing, and he's had another good season in League One.

"For me, it's good to know that I'll be continuing to work with players like Joe, who I've been with for so long and have shared in each other's successes."
