Rochdale Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of defender Reece Brown.
The 25-year-old has penned a one-year deal with the club, becoming Keith Hill’s first new recruit of the summer.
Reece began his career at Manchester United after coming through the Academy ranks at the Premier League club.
Permanent spells at Watford, Barnsley, Bury and Sheffield United followed for the former England international, who made 15 appearances for his country at under-19 and under-20 levels. He's most recently been at the Shakers for a second spell.
“I’m really happy to have signed,” said Brown.
“Once I spoke to Keith Hill and he told me what he wants to do here, I was keen to join the club. What he has achieved over the last few years has been brilliant.
“He also showed willing that he wanted me to come here, so that also played a big part in my decision.
“I know some of the lads who are here and they’ve told me that it’s a good place to be, which is important.”
Keith Hill added: “Reece has got pedigree and he’s got great technical ability.
“I look at his record and he’s the type of profile player that I’m used to acquiring.
“We’ve agreed a one-year deal, which suits everybody, and let’s see if we can get him going.
“He gives me great flexibility when looking at the make-up of the squad.”
