There's A Lot Of Football Still To Be Played: Keith Hill

31 March 2017

Rochdale are back in action at the Crown Oil Arena this Saturday, hosting Northampton Town.

Dale have seven games left to play this season and Manager Keith Hill is hoping for a strong finish the campaign.

“I was deeply disappointed with the result on Tuesday at AFC Wimbledon, but when I look back at the end of the season, I’ll look back and reflect, and see that we’ve done some great things this season with the players that we’ve got and as a team. With seven games to go, I don’t want to see the season peter out. I’m a fighter, and I expect my team to turn up and fight, perform and win football matches.

“There’s a lot of football still to be played and we’ll see where we go. There are 21 points left to play for and we’re looking up rather than down.

“We’re looking forward to the last seven games.”

Dale’s fixture list has been hectic in recent weeks, and with a host of injuries and suspensions, Hill says keeping his players fresh for the run in is tough.

“With the distances we cover and the way we play, it’s difficult for the players.

“There are one or two other players who, if other players were fit, I’d love to be able to give a rest, and to freshen the opposition up knowing we’ve made those changes.”

Keith Keane is suspended for the game, while Niall Canavan is expected to miss out after sustaining an injury during the warm-up on Tuesday.
