Keith Hill On Peter Vincenti's Departure

27 June 2017

Manager Keith Hill has thanked Peter Vincenti for his services to the club.

The 30-year-old, who had been at Rochdale for four years, left the club last week to join League Two side Coventry City.

Speaking to iFollow, Hill commented: “I had no intention of Peter leaving the football club this summer. I had expected to start pre-season with him, but after receiving a phone call from his representative seeking permission to speak with Coventry, then I knew that Peter wanted more regular first time football and he probably needed a fresh challenge, too.

“His time on the pitch as a starter has been limited over the last 18-months, but Peter Vincenti is a starter and I wouldn’t want to have suppressed Peter anymore this season for him to be a squad player.

“Peter has been a brilliant player for me. He was part of the impetus and the momentum that we generated in gaining promotion from League Two to League One, then during our first season in League One. His goal-scoring ratio was superb, as was his performance levels.

“He has been unbelievable steward and player for the football club. I admire Peter, I consider him a friend and I thank him for everything he’s done for Rochdale Football Club.”
