Manager Keith Hill has revealed to iFollow that he tried to recruit Brad Inman last summer.
Hill finally got his man last week, with the midfielder joining Dale on a season-long loan from Peterborough United on Friday.
Hill is delighted to have secured his services and says he’ll bring a “je ne sais quoi” to the squad.
“We tried getting Brad before he went to Peterborough 12 months,” he told iFollow.
“It hasn’t worked out for him quite as well as expected, but who could have foreseen that he would break a bone in his leg during pre-season.
“There’s an unbelievable player in there. I look at the goals and the creative measure that he had when he was playing for Crewe and when he started his career at Newcastle, and I believe in him.
“I believe he is going to bring us that je ne sais quoi, if you like, to the opposition. I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
