Football is back on Saturday when Rochdale travel to AFC Fylde's Mill Farm for the first pre-season friendly of the summer.
The squad arrived back from their week-long training camp in Tenerife on Thursday, and the game against the Coasters is the first of six pre-season fixtures for Dale.
This is the fourth consecutive season that Keith Hill’s side have faced AFC Fylde in preparation for the new campaign.
Rochdale have emerged victorious on two occasions, while the home side won the other.
Promoted as Champions to the Conference at the end of last season, Hill is expecting a tough encounter.
“The infrastructure there is very professional – the new stadium and the management structure – they’ve been very patient in their progress. It’s always a hard fixture and that’s what we want,” Hill told iFollow.
“We’re not playing for points – we’re playing for positions. Players are playing for positions and we’ve got to be competitive with each other.
“They’ve got to meet the demands that I put on them – the physical and psychological demands, and obviously the way that we play, with and without the ball. That’s all I’m looking for.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for AFC Fylde and the way that they’ve done things, but I’m only concerned about us. If we lose on Saturday, I won’t be overly concerned, as long as I see players representing me, first and foremost, to then represent Rochdale Football Club.”
