Injury Update: Joe Bunney & Brendan Moore

21 July 2017

We can reveal that left-back Joe Bunney and goalkeeper Brendan Moore are facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The pair, who sustained injuries during the pre-season trip to Tenerife, got the results of their scans back earlier this week, confirming the seriousness of their injuries.

Joe will be absent for between six and eight-weeks, and Brendan will be out for 12-weeks.

Joe’s medial knee ligament damage is the result of an innocuous challenge, while Brendan ruptured his ankle ligaments after landing awkwardly during a session.

Manager Keith Hill has confirmed that he’s looking to recruit replacements for both positions.

Hill told iFollow: “I’m definitely looking to recruit in both positions due to the seriousness of the injuries. I’m not prepared to wait and make-do, and I’ve been given the backing from the board to look at those two situations.

“When Joe is fit, he’ll provide great competition for the left-back slot, but I’m definitely looking for a left-footed player, and due to Brendan's injury, it’s important that I recruit another goalkeeper.”
