Manager Keith Hill previews Saturday’s trip to Morecambe, Rochdale’s final pre-season friendly fixture before the 2017/18 campaign gets underway…
“It’ll be a severe test.
“Morecambe are very aggressive, they’re on the front foot and they play the way the manager played the game.
“It’ll be a keen, aggressive contest.”
And Hill was full of praise for his Shrimps counterpart, Jim Bentley, for what he achieved with Morecambe last season.
“100-percent respect to Jim Bentley, his staff and players for what they achieved last season.
“Not getting paid when you’re a League Two player is massive stress. You’re not talking about players who are millionaires – you’re talking about families and people who need their pay packet to be paid on time so they can pay bills, but they dealt with that stress magnificently.
“Jim's a very good manager and he’s got very good management skills. If I had been managing in League Two, I would have voted for him to be Manager of the Year.”
