Rochdale AFC are pleased to announce the appointment of Greg Jones as Assistant Media Officer.
Greg started his role earlier this month, and will work alongside the club’s Media Officer, Leighanne Ball.
An important part of club operations, the demand on Dale’s media department has never been greater, with content appearing online seven days a week across a number of channels, including www.rochdaleafc.co.uk, iFollow, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, plus contributions to TVOS, the club’s matchday programme, as well as regular dealings with local/ national press – Rochdale Observer, Rochdale Online, Revolution Radio, BBC Radio Manchester, Sky Sports and the EFL itself.
As the club continues to grow at pace off the pitch, this addition brings Rochdale AFC in line with the majority of other League One and League Two clubs, who already have a minimum of two full-time staff within their media department.
The new role will enable the club to increase coverage of Dale’s successful Academy/ Youth Team, as well as the work undertaken by the Community Trust.
Greg, who has a BA Honours Degree in Sports Journalism, is no stranger to club operations, having volunteered for Dale on matchdays for the last three seasons, writing match reports and commentating for the club’s website.
“I’ve supported Rochdale from a young age, so it’s a real honour to have joined the club,” said Greg.
“It’s a role I have wanted to get into for many years, and to do so at Rochdale AFC is a dream come true.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed volunteering over the last few seasons and have built good relationships, while gaining an understanding of the day-to-day runnings of the media department and what the role entails.
“I’m delighted to have started in time for the new season.”
On behalf of everybody at the club, we would like to welcome Greg to the team!
