Peter Vincenti Is Looking Forward To Dale's FA Cup Test

27 January 2017

Peter Vincenti is looking forward to Rochdale’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Huddersfield Town…

“You always look forward to the FA Cup, and getting through to the fourth round is great for the club,” Vincenti told Dale PlayerHD.

“We’ve been here a few times before so hopefully we can go one better this time and get that fifth round tie which would be brilliant for everyone involved.

“We know it’s going to be a difficult game because Huddersfield are going well in the Championship but we’re aspiring to get to that level if possible, so it’s a great challenge for us to play against a team in a higher division.”

This is the third time in four years that Dale have competed in the fourth round of the competition, and Vincenti has fond memories of those previous cup runs.

“The Leeds game still sticks in the memory, as does the Nottingham Forest game. The Forest one, for me, was brilliant after scoring in the 1-0 win. We had a lot of injuries that day and a few players out with illness, so a few lads made their full debuts in the game, including Campsy [Callum Camps} who has gone on to be Captain.

“Playing Stoke was a great occasion. I know we went out but it was great to draw a Premier League team, so we have some great memories.

“Over the years, it has been great to see what it can do for the club as a whole club and the players.”
