Manager Keith Hill looks ahead to Saturday’s League One fixture v Charlton Athletic at the Crown Oil Arena…
"They always look to play,” he told Dale PlayerHD.
“I expect nothing but a very good game of football against Karl Robinson’s side.
“We’ve got to look at ourselves and the way that we do things, and come up with permutations to get success out of this game.
“The only disappointment for me at this moment in time in terms of where we are at is three points. We’re three points away from the target that I set after 30 games. For me, we can soon catch that up and hopefully we can start catching up on Saturday.”
He continued: “I can’t fault the players because they’re putting everything into it. But we all have demands and my demands are high for the players and for myself and that’s why we get disappointed sometimes.
“We’re going through a difficult period of the season where there’s a lot of determination but there’s a lot of players missing. These are key players who are key components to the way that we play. We’re trying to integrate other players into our squad and we’re trying to come up with an attacking formula. Three weeks ago we were trying to come up a defensive formula and we’ve done that, so we’ve got to get the balance right.”
He added: “You’re always trying to put the footballing jigsaw together, which is brilliant. League One football is like a game of snakes and ladders. At the minute, there are a lot of ups and downs and we want continuity and consistency.
“But I’m very proud of everything that the club has achieved and will continue to achieve. That’s what gives me the belief that we’ll ultimately continue with our successes.”
Hill confirmed that Steven Davies and Matty Lund are back in very light training but says their return is still some way off.
