Keith Hill's Post-Match Reaction - Bristol Rovers

4 February 2017

Manager Keith Hill spoke to Dale PlayerHD after Saturday’s goalless draw with Bristol Rovers…

He said it was important to keep the clean sheet.

“We have to start again somewhere,” he commented.

“We have to forget about the eight goals we’ve conceded in the last two games and we have to adapt to what has been, and is, a deteriorating pitch.

“It’s causing us unbelievable problems as the home side and I’ve got to give fair credit to my players for trying to play on it. We tried to play but with the influential players that we’ve got missing, we have come to up with a different way [of playing] and we are still experimenting.

“I thought Joe Raff was brilliant in securing the clean sheet, as was Ben’s save towards the end of the second half.

“It’s about growing again now. We’ve always managed to find a different way of winning and that’s the first steps in the process.

“Last week was as well, as we went into the week working with the players and then coming up with what we thought was a team that could stabilise and maybe grow and nick a goal.

“We needed to make the changes to get rid of the bad feeling of the eight goals that we conceded in the last two games. Ultimately, I’m happy with a point.”
