NHS And New Businesses Set Up Home At The Crown Oil Arena

6 December 2017

Rochdale Football Club is delighted to announce that three organisations, including the NHS, have moved into the Crown Oil Arena, along with a brand new office for the Rochdale AFC Academy.

The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust have taken the first floor offices at Mitre House located in the Willbutts Lane Stand for up to 30 community nurses to use on a daily basis as an office hub.

Rochdale AFC is proud to be working in partnership with the NHS and will be working on a number of health related initiatives in the future with plans to introduce breast cancer screening clinics, raising awareness of prostate cancer and hosting a range of mental health clinics.

You can find out about the wonderful work they do by following @PennineAcuteNHS on Twitter or visiting the Trust website www.pat.nhs.uk.

The Rochdale AFC Academy have also moved to the ground floor of Mitre House, along with Icon Sports and Train with Honor Elite Performance Centre, all utilising the space in the Willbutts Lane Stand.

ICON Sports have recently opened a ground floor showroom on Willbutts Lane supplying fully sublimated sportswear and a wide range of sporting equipment allowing the public easy access to drop by and shop. Visit www.iconsports.co.uk to learn more.

And a new gym – Train with Honor Elite Performance Centre - is also soon to be opening to the public. Once fully up and running, it will offer a bespoke Personal Training service to the community and run a number of gym classes including box fit, Ignite - the ultimate fat burn session and an over 50s boot camp. See www.facebook.com/TrainWithHonorElitePerformance for more details.

“We’ve got to look at raising revenue throughout the whole year, not just on a matchday,” said Dale Chief Executive Russ Green.

“When you look at the footballing calendar, we potentially only have 25 home games, including cup matches, throughout the season, so we need to generate income into the club during the remaining 340 days of the year.

“We’ve got facilities at the club that have been unused over the years, so we’ve had them renovated and we’re delighted to welcome these new businesses to the Crown Oil Arena.”
