An update regarding the closure of the Ratcliffe Bars to Sandy Lane supporters at Saturday’s League One fixture v Scunthorpe United…
Rochdale Football Club can confirm that the issue regarding the closure of the Ratcliffe Bars to supporters in the Sandy Lane Terrace has been looked at and will be addressed for our next home game.
A further statement will be issued before the Bury match on Saturday 26th August, with regards to how supporters will be able to gain access at half-time.
The decision not to allow fans into the bar at the weekend’s game was taken solely by the club’s newly appointed Safety Officer, after addressing the situation whilst the game was in progress.
Due to the number of season tickets sold during the summer, the Main Stand, which also has access to the Ratcliffe Bars, is now operating at an almost full capacity, therefore, the decision was taken on safety grounds.
The club holds pre/ post-match meetings after every game, with all departments present, to discuss any issues that have arisen at each individual fixture. This week's meeting was held on Tuesday, resulting in this statement being issued today.
