Brendan Moore On His Dale Debut

20 August 2017

Brendan Moore has told iFollow that his first Rochdale appearance has left him “hungry” for more time on the pitch.

He was called into action after Josh Lillis sustained an injury during the week.

The Dale goalkeeper, who joined the club in the summer, missed nearly all of pre-season after damaging his ankle ligaments during the trip to Tenerife.

Moore has worked extremely hard behind the scenes to get himself fit and available, and he was pleased to make his debut against Shrewsbury Town, although obviously very disappointed with the result.

He said: “I’m disappointed with result, but I was happy to get minutes and it’s left me hungry for more.

“It’s the situation and I had to do what I needed to do. I got injured early in pre-season and I’ve worked hard to be able to get back and put myself in this position. I was confident coming into the game today with the work I’ve done with the physios, because they’ve been very good. I felt strong and I felt I was ready.

“I didn’t get time on the pitch during pre-season but I had been training for the past week and felt really good.

“It’s not the way you want to get on the pitch – I don’t want to see Josh injured in the same way that he probably didn’t want to see me injured during pre-season - but it’s an opportunity and I’ve gone out there and done the best I could.”
