Manager Keith Hill looks ahead to Rochdale’s first home game of the season…
Dale welcome Scunthorpe United, who secured a top six finish last term, to the Crown Oil Arena this Saturday.
Hill told iFollow: “We’re playing against one of the close season favourites for promotion.
“They were excellent last season and they’ll want to be as successful, if not more successful, this season.
“We’ll just concentrate on ourselves, though, and the way that we want to do things. Graham Alexander [Iron Manager] will have an idea of the way that we want to do things. We’ve matched up against Graham and his teams on more than one occasion, so there are not too many things that we don’t know.
“It’ll be down to us to try and win as many individual battles as we possibly can, and that’s what we ask the players to do. You can point out the perceived strengths and weaknesses of the opposition – you’ve got to give the players those dangers - but the players will have to manage those dangers. Scunthorpe will have to manage us as well, which will also be a hard task for them.”
