Matt Done says he is excited to be back at Rochdale AFC for a third spell at the Club.
The 29-year-old has signed a two-year deal at the Crown Oil Arena, following the mutual termination of his contract at Sheffield United.
Done says he is delighted to be back, and can’t wait for the season to get underway when Dale travel to Portsmouth on the opening day.
“I’m excited to be back,” said Done. “I’m excited to get back playing. It’s nice to be back amongst the lads, and back training with the Gaffer. I’m looking forward to it.
“Ideally, I would have liked to get the deal done a lot earlier, but these things happen. I’m delighted it’s done before the start of the season, and it will be nice to get on the coach down to Portsmouth on Saturday.”
Done says it is a Club he holds very close to his heart, and he is looking forward to working under Keith Hill again.
“I’ve had some good times here and hopefully we can emulate those times again.
“The first time I was here, we just missed out on making the play-offs in League One, and then when I came back the second time, we won promotion back to League One, so hopefully the third time will be, as they say, third time lucky and we’ll get promoted to the Championship. That’s why I’ve come back, to try and help get this club promoted to the Championship.
“I’m looking forward to working under the Gaffer again and with the squad that he’s put together.”
