Josh Lillis: Pleasing To Get A Win On My 200th Appearance

26 September 2016

Saturday’s League 1 fixture against Millwall marked goalkeeper Josh Lillis’ 200th Rochdale appearance.

The victory saw Dale end the Lions’ twelve game unbeaten run at Den, and Lillis believes Keith Hill’s side deserved the win.

“It’s pleasing to get a win on my 200th appearance,” he told Dale PlayerHD.

“All in all, it was a good day in the end.

“I thought we started off brightly and we went 1-0 up. We then conceded the goals, and we’re disappointed with every goal we concede, but we’ve addressed things at half-time and I think our second half performance deserved the win.”

Dale are now unbeaten in four games but Lillis says the players aren't getting carried away and will continue working hard.

“We know what we’ve got in our dressing room and what we’re capable of. But like you see year in and year out in every division, it’s not always the case of good players winning every week, especially in this league because it’s unforgiving if you don’t perform. With us, we need nine, ten or all 11 players performing every week, and if you don’t get that, then that’s when you tend to see teams struggling.

“We’ll get back in on Monday and we’re looking forward to the game on Tuesday.”
