James Hooper and Matty Gillam head out on loan…
James Hooper has today joined FC United on a month long loan.
The move will see the 19-year-old team up with Dale goalkeeper Johny Diba, who is also on loan at the National League North side.
Meanwhile, second year scholar Matty Gillam has joined Stalybridge Celtic on a work experience loan.
Gillam was one of three youth team players to be included in the first team squad for this summer’s pre-season trip to Tenerife. He has already netted six goals in five games for Dale’s under 18 side the season.
Speaking in an interview last week, Hill hinted that a loan move for the young forward was imminent, and said: “For me, Gilly has got to go out and play real men’s football now.
“He’s not going to be involved with us this side of Christmas, although he will train with us. I think the youth team is too easy for him, so I need to get him parked in real men’s football. It’ll give him his man stripes, if you like.”
We wish both James and Matty the best of luck while out on loan!
