Rochdale Football Club are proud to announce that the team will be wearing a one-off shirt for Saturday’s League One fixture against Bradford City.
It’s in a bid to help raise money for the British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, in recognition of the 100 year anniversary of the Battle of the Somme.
The blue and black striped shirts have a poppy printed on the front, and each player’s shirt will be signed and made available for auction after the game, with all the proceeds from the sale of the match-worn shirts being donated to the charity.
Dale Chief Executive Russ Green commented: “This is a unique opportunity to own a piece of limited edition memorabilia whilst supporting a worthy cause.
“We are delighted to be supporting this year’s Poppy Appeal and I hope fans will get behind the initiative to help raise funds for the charity.”
Details regarding the auction will be announced next week.
