Dale’s Youth Team played their final game of the 2015-16 season on Saturday, hosting Wigan Athletic at Radcliffe Borough.
The Latics, who knew a victory would see them crowned Champions of the North West Youth Alliance, won the game 3-0.
The visitors netted two quick fire goals early in the first half and went on to add their third before the break.
Wigan went ahead from the penalty spot in the 14th minute, before doubling their advantage two minutes later. They sealed the points with a 20-yard strike before the half was out.
After Dale’s second year scholars learned their fate on Tuesday, a youthful side was named for the final game of the campaign, with a mix of current first year scholars and under 16 players lining up against the Latics.
