Rochdale AFC’s open age ability counts team have been crowned winners of the Greater Manchester Ability Counts Championship, securing back-to-back promotions.
Finishing top of the table on 40 points, they lost just four of their 20 games during the 2015-16 campaign, winning 12 and drawing four times.
They’ll now compete in the Premier League next season, taking on teams who are representing the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United.
The lads will receive their trophy at a presentation evening later this month.
As part of the Community Trust's Ability Counts Programme, training sessions for the team take place on a Monday evening at the club’s 5-a-side complex from 6.30pm to 8pm. There’s also an under 16s provision at Redwood School on a Wednesday from 3.30pm to 5pm.
