Dale's under 18 side fell to a 4-0 defeat on Tuesday afternoon in their Youth Alliance league fixture against Preston North End.
Preston North End took a 2-0 lead into half-time after opening the scoring in the 23 minute and doubling their advantage nine minutes later.
Two goals in the second half (66 and 76 minutes) rounded off proceedings.
