On loan defender Niall Canavan has told Dale PlayerHD that he’s enjoying his time out on the pitch.
Canavan joined Rochdale from Scunthorpe United in February and has become a regular in the centre of defence, featuring nine times for Keith Hill’s side.
Speaking after Easter Monday’s narrow defeat to Wigan Atheltic, Canavan commented: “I’ve been asked quite a lot by friends and family about how it’s going and I’m enjoying my football. That’s what I came here to do.
“Thankfully the Gaffer has put me in and I’m enjoying my time out there and forming good partnerships. We’re on a good run and hopefully that can continue.
“Even if you include this loss today [against Wigan], I think the performance was good again. And usually if you’re performing well the results follow. We’ll prepare right for Doncaster [this Saturday] and hopefully that’ll lead us onto another three points.”
He added: “We’ve got to look to go again as a group. It’s that time in the season when everyone has got something to play for. Wigan, today, are looking to go up, while Donny are looking to save themselves.
“They’ll come and they’ll be fighting. You can’t give teams who are on those bad runs any encouragement so we’ll have to stamp our authority on them early doors and hopefully come out the blocks like we have done recently because we started games really well. I even thought that we started really well today.”
