Keith Hill On Monday's Game v Wigan Athletic

27 March 2016

A few words from Manager Keith Hill ahead of Easter Monday’s League 1 fixture v Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium…

Dale head into the game after Friday’s 4-1 win over Southend United at Spotland, while Wigan were winners by the score-line in their Good Friday match against Swindon Town.

Speaking after Friday’s victory, Manager Keith Hill said: “We’re picking up points on a regular basis. We’ve won the last four and won six out of the last seven.

“Let’s just concentrate on the [remaining] eight games. The players aren’t harbouring any pressure – they’re playing free of that and the performance levels have gone up, which is a sign of our intent.

“We’re playing against a difficult opposition on Monday. It’s a big game for us but it’s one we’re going into having got three points from this fixture.”

He continued: “Wigan have got a Championship budget. They spend more on one player than we do on our playing budget and they should be walking this league by a county mile.

“Have I got respect for their manager? Yes. I have got respect for the club? 100-percent. Have I got respect for the players? Yes.

“We’ll go there with a fighting chance. I’ve got a few players who can deliver knock out punches and that’s our intention.”
